March is about day light savings, St. Patrick’s Day, the onset of spring, and some crazy stories with jewelry playing muse!

A Watch and a Ring

A UK based jeweler designed a watch that has about 153 carats of diamonds on the bracelet with a flawless D color 38 carat pear shaped diamond at the center of the watch dial. Valued at $40 million, the icing on the cake is that the pear shaped diamond can be taken out and worn as a ring.

Can One Have Too Many Engagement Rings

It’s come to light that Victoria Beckham has been married to one man but has upgraded her engagement rings 13 times! That’s almost one new engagement ring for each year she’s remained married to David Beckham….We concur that there’s nothing quite like diamonds to keep a marriage fresh and young.

Most Extravagant Easter Bunny

A London Jeweler and chocolatier have collaborated, to create an Easter bunny with two, 1.7 carat diamond eyes. Once you’ve wolfed down this chocolate bunny, valued at $37,000, the jeweler offers to make a custom piece of jewelry free of charge with the solitaires.

Transformer Jewelry

A new trend emerging from Europe is the popularity of jewelry that transforms from being a necklace, to earrings, to bracelet and so on! A Cypriot jewelry designer has a Transformer collection that includes rings that may be worn in 18 different ways or a piece of jewelry that becomes a bejeweled bird, ring, or  transforms into a pendant based on what the wearer is in the mood for.

125,000 year old Statement Necklaces

While dusting the fossilized remains of Neanderthals, scientists at a Croatian museum have discovered an ancient necklace that’s about 125,000 years old, made out of eagle talons. This discovery suggests that jewelry is as old as human existence.

Though Queen Elizabeth is April born and diamond is her birthstone, her personal favorite happens to be Aquamarines. Her collection of aquamarines started off when she received an aquamarine necklace and earrings from the President of Brazil as coronation gift back in 1953. She later on added a tiara, bracelet and other aquamarine jewelry pieces to her collection.
